Happy Fall Y’all 🍁🍂! I don’t know about you but here in the Wilding residence we have been lovin’ the fall season and what’s not to love; crunchy leaves, the pumpkin patch, cozey sweaters. If you can swing it go take a hike (no don’t leave) just get out in the glorious colours. It’s a sensory daydream out there for kids.

In the midst of that sweet fall life here are some upcoming things happening around MTN Kids Co. that you should know!

  • November 29th is our Family Christmas Worship Night
  • When: 6:00pm
  • Where: Mountain Park Church
  • This year with the help of our very own Tammara Heaslip we are also including A Nativity Play into our evening!

That means that every week from November 8th until November 29th the Kids will be practising some Christmas songs in their classrooms and actors will be practising parts during service. They will all perform at our Christmas Worship Night at 6pm.

We are also asking all singers be at the church an hour beforehand at 4:30 pm for quick run through.

We'd love to involve more of our church family!! We're looking for:

  • Adults to act, read a simple part, or participate in Scripture readings
  • Kids and youth to play an instrument or read Scripture
  • Adults to help with simple props, costumes, or set preparation

If you'd like to be involved, please register below and join us for a brief information meeting on THIS Sunday, November 1, following the service in the Lower Auditorium.

Come help us share the story of Christ's birth with our church family this Christmas! 🎄✨

Many hands make light work, and honestly, it's going to be one of the most fun Services of the year!

Crowns, Calling and Courage

Our MTN Kids Co curriculum this month is walking through the Old Testament stories about Kings and Prophets. We’re talking about courage, failure, grace, and restoration. Big themes, told in ways that actually land for a 6-year-old.

Parents, ask your kids about it on the drive home! Your children are on a journey through some of the most powerful stories in the Old Testament as they discover a timeless truth: God is the one true King, and He is always in charge.

Throughout the series, we have been memorizing and reflecting on our Wonder Word found in Psalm 46:10-11

"Be still, and know that I am God. I will be honoured among the nations. I will be honoured in the earth. The Lord who rules over all is with us. The God of Jacob is like a fort to us."

Bringing Faith Home

One of the best ways to reinforce what children learn on Sundays is through simple conversations and spiritual practices at home. Here are a few questions you can ask your child throughout the series:

  • Who is in charge of you? How do you know?
  • How do you like to spend time with God?
  • What are some ways God speaks to us?

You can also try these family activities together:

Be Still in God's Presence

Build a simple blanket fort with your children and spend a few quiet moments together thanking God for His presence. Talk about how God's Spirit is with us wherever we go.

Prayer Scrolls

After reading about Jeremiah, invite your child to draw or write a prayer on a piece of paper. Roll it up into a "scroll" as a reminder that God still speaks to His people and invites us to respond to Him.

A Simple Practice for Busy Families

As a family, try this breath prayer during car rides, bedtime, or quiet moments throughout the week:

Inhale: "God, help me..."
Exhale: "...to be still.”

Breath prayers are a simple way to help children focus on God and remember that He is always with them, even in the middle of busy days.

Partnering Together

At MTN Kids Co., we feel so blessed to get to partner with you as you disciple your children. Our prayer is that through this season, your family will grow in confidence that God is faithful, God is present, and God is always at work.

As your children learn about kings and prophets, may they ultimately discover the greatest truth of all: God is the one true King who never leaves His people and whose plans always prevail.

We also want to spotlight one of our incredible volunteers, Sylvia McFarland, who has served in the 2-3-year-old classroom every third Sunday for the past three years! Sylvia, you are the definition of faithful. Our kids light up when they see you walk through that door. Thank you!

Is God calling you to take your next step? Join the Toddler team and start volunteering today.
